Report on the Eureka! Fellowship Program for Teacher Researchers

In 2014 five educators from University of Toronto Schools (UTS) were awarded Eureka grants from the Newton Foundation to carry out research studies in areas they were passionate about.   The teachers met monthly with Administrators from UTS as well as academics from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education to develop, shape and implement their studies.  ChangeGamer Director and middle/high school Geography teacher Mike Farley decided to focus on game-based learning.  His final research report focused on the docu-game Fort McMoney (see pages 43-58).

OGCA - Financial Literacy Lessons and Activities

The Ontario Geography Consultants’ Association (OGCA) is a Ontario provincial subject association, comprised largely of curriculum or program consultants. Its mission and mandate is to support curriculum and program leaders and consultants in their roles at the school and district levels and to advocate for strong programs in the discipline of geography within the Geography (Grades 7 and 8) and Canadian and World Studies (Grades 9-12) curriculum documents.
